“We waited for a few hours, then abandoned the bus, got into the crew buses, and headed to Cedar Rapids. That morning, our bus caught fire on the road.”
Bert Kreischer reported that everyone on board is safe, noting that Dewy saw the fire start in less than 15 seconds in the front cabin.
He said it was a “blessing” that the tire blew out, because it caused everyone to exit the bus in time before the flames ignited.
